Neeta Datta Iyengar Yoga Workshop
February 28, March 1
Join us for an Iyengar Yoga workshop with Senior Iyengar Teacher Neeta Datta.
The course of the workshop will be progressive, first practicing the foundations with standing poses and then graduating to forward bends, inversions, back bends, and twistings during the course of the workshop. Pranayama will be taught Sunday morning. For the last asana class on Sunday Neeta will review all that has been taught and advance deeper into the poses or go to some advanced poses depending on the readiness of the class. Students with therapeutic issues will be guided simultaneously with the rest of the class, so they know how to progress.
Through her teaching, Neeta reflects a deep understanding of the Iyengar method. With a joyful and precise approach, Neeta is able to help the student experience the bliss of yoga through learning and practicing the yogasanas.
Neeta Datta is blessed to have been initiated into Yoga by Yogacharya Shri BKS Iyengar in 1975, and then studied with him regularly for twelve years, until her move to the United States in 1987. She continues to study at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute in Pune during her annual visits to India. In 1978, Neeta began to assist Guruji, Geetaji, and Prashantji in their classes in Mumbai and also started teaching public classes at the Mumbai Institute in 1981. She now teaches public classes in Cupertino, CA. For Neeta, Iyengar Yoga is a way of life and not just a few hours of practice a day.
