Sunset Yoga Center is pleased to announce our 2014-2015 Iyengar Yoga Apprentice Program. This program is for those aspiring to teach Iyengar Yoga, or those who wish to deepen their understanding of yoga practice, philosophy and teaching. Our 2012-2013 program had four participants, and three of the participants are now teaching.
The program is open to those who have studied Iyengar Yoga for at least two years. By completing the program, successful apprentices will be eligible to apply for to apply for assessment to become a certified Iyengar Yoga teacher.
The program will begin in January 2014 and will continue through March 2015. The program will be on break for summer 2014.
The apprentice program is run by Nina Pileggi, Intermediate Junior II certified Iyengar Yoga Instructor.
Applications for the program are due by November 15 and applicants will be notified of acceptance into the program by December 1st. Applications are available at the yoga center or by emailing Nina.

Nina Pileggi, Director Nina is the founder and director of Sunset Yoga Center and is a certified Iyengar Yoga Instructor at the Intermediate Junior II level. Nina has taught Iyengar Yoga for over 14 years and has practiced Iyengar Yoga for over 17 years. Nina’s teaching style is enthusiastic and supportive. She believes yoga can increase energy and bring us a wonderful sense of well-being. Nina received her teacher training from certified Iyengar Yoga Instructors Julie Lawrence, Dean Lerner and Mary Dunn. Nina has made two trips to RIMYI (Iyengar Yoga Institute) in Pune, India to study with the Iyengar family.
Nina’s hobbies include hiking, playing guitar, songwriting and gardening. Nina is also a Associate of the Soceity of Actuaries and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
Nina lives in Beaverton with her husband and has three grown sons.
